GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
Authors are invited to submit full papers on any of the topics relevant to one of the conference themes.
Submitted papers will be reviewed by the scientific committee of the IS-Macau 2024 Symposium.
The Proceedings including General Reports will be published before the Symposium. The official language of the Symposium will be English.
The conference proceedings will be published by CRC Press / Balkema -Taylor & Francis Group with open access. Selected conference papers will be invited for submission to a special issue in the journals of Underground Space and Tunnelling and Underground Space Technology.

- Physical and Numerical Modelling;
- Ground Improvement in Soft Ground;
- Advances in Geotechnical Site Investigation;
- Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning in Geotechnical and Underground Engineering;
- Sustainability and Resilience of Underground Infrastructure;
- Smart Monitoring and Visualization Technologies for Underground Construction;
- Observation Method in Underground Construction;
- Field Case Studies.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PREPARING FULL PAPERS
- All papers/documents should be delivered in *.pdf format that was compiled from *.doc (Word) files or from another software program, using the option 'embedded fonts' in pdf-file. Pdf-files prepared from scanned documents can not be accepted. Only pdf version is required for the first submission.
- Deadline for submission of papers to the conference editors is extended until November 30, 2023.
- Maximum number of pages per paper is 12 pages for keynote speakers.
- Maximum number of pages per paper is 8 pages for regular contributions.
- Be sure that the ‘Conversion settings’ in the PDF maker is set on ‘High Print Quality’.
